Solid!!

Am I driving a car? No wait, it is a Bumbo!

Before the feeding

The aftermath

It has been quite a few klmmlmlp[=/'o; (sorry, that was Rich banging Luke's legs on the keyboard) eventful weeks for the little guy. He has started eating solid foods. Well, actually just rice cereal to be more specific. We have the whole routine down now. We put him in the high chair, put the bib on him, and then the fun begins. We feed him when he is about half full because if he is hungry, and we try to feed him rice cereal, he will have none of it. The last time we tried that, he grabbed the spoon and threw it across the room, food and all. He is getting better now at swallowing the stuff. Before, he would just hold it in his mouth and then spit it out. I dont blame him either. I tried the stuff the other day, and it takes getting used to. Needless to say, he gets a lot more baths than he used to because he is covered in the stuff when we are done feeding him.
We got a new jogging stroller too - the BOB revolution. This thing is awesome. The car seat clicks into it, so we can use it as a jogging stroller and a regular stroller. We are going to start training for the army 10 miler soon so it is going to come in very handy. This past weekend, I went to my friend Chloe's baby shower. Luke and Rich got spend the whole day together. When I say the whole day, I mean a good six hours and they did extremely well!! Now that he is getting older, it is so much easier to entertain him. Today at dinner, he was entertained by a ketchup bottle. We had hot dogs for dinner (totally cheating on our diet), but grilled hot dogs sounded really good to both of us.

In not so good news, Luke has his first cold! It makes us so sad to see him sniffle and snort. The pediatrician assures us that it just has to run its course. I have humidifiers running in every room, I snort saline drops in nose every hour and keep using the aspirator bulb even more often. I think he is more sick of me than his cold. Because of the cold, we unfortunatley had to miss our friend Bill's wedding. We were planning on leaving for North Carolina tonight but Luke ended up with this cold so we could not make the drive down. We are sorry Bill! We wish you and Whitney the best and hope that you guys come up to visit us in DC. Have a great time in St. Lucia.

Last weekend, we hung out with my good friend Neha and her daughter Layla, Luke's girlfriend. She is 71/2 months old and such a cutie. I guess he is into older women. They came over for breakfast and coffee and to watch the men's tennis French Open Finals. The great Roger Federer overcame great odds and finally won a French Open! Rich and I were very pleased as he is our absolute favorite. He is now tied with Pete Sampras for the number of grand slams won. Go Rog! Hopefully he will have a repeat win at Wimbeldon. Maybe some of the tennis excitement will rub off on Luke as tennis is one of the sports that he will be allowed to play. There are many violent ones that shall be banned.

In other news, we are making quite a good headway on the Patio. It is going to be ready by Father's day when we are having family over for a cookout! Rich is in charge of the pavers and he is doing a fabulous job. We are going to plant an azalea bush and some impatence once the pavers are in. We have to find out how are apart to plant the impatence from each other before we start the planting. We are very excited to see the finished product. We will be posting before and after pictures once it is completed.
