Our little man is now walking, talking, responding to our questions, giving his mama real kisses and helps us unload the dishwasher. That is a lot to conquer in the month since my last post. We have a very energetic, happy little boy, and we are very grateful for that! He is so fast on his little feet now. Most of our pictures are either the back of his head or a very blurry shot of Luke as he approaches us. Sitting still is no longer an option.
His vocabulary still consists mostly of grunts, squeals and babbles to communicate what he wants, but he has mastered mama, dada, bow (uttered when he sees a dog), and moo (when he see animals in a book). He is obsessed with Ajji and Tata's dog Toby and chases him all around their house. He have to keep them apart though because Toby is not exactly a kid friendly dog and Luke is not exactly gentle when it comes to petting him. He also is obsessed with the music CD Philadelphia Chickens that his Aunt Courtney gave him for his birthday. His favorites are Pig Island and Fifteen animals. We have to play it every time we are in the car, or he really gets upset. If anyone who has kids is looking for a CD for kids, this one is great. He also loves the Tim McGraw song "Business doing Pleasure With You". I have that as my ring tone on my phone and he dances every time my phone rings.
He has now gone from saying no to everything to nodding his head yes to everything. I am not sure if he understands what we are saying or if he is just nodding his head because he has seen us do that, but either way, it is very cute. He also loves his school now. Every time I drop him off, he goes very willingly to the teacher and gives me a kiss goodbye. Rich says that when he goes to pick him up, he walks back into the classroom while waiting for Rich to put on his coat. We had our first parent teacher conference with his teacher (yes, they have them at this age too) yesterday and she said that he has adjusted very well. We are so pleased that he loves it there so much but are also a little offended that we bore him at him.
His new favorite activity now is to help us unload the dishwasher. Not all the dishes of course, just the silverware minus the sharp objects. He walks over as fast as he can and hands us the items one by one very seriously. He waits to hand us the next spoon until we put away the one he has given us. I hope he enjoys doing chores this much when he is actually required to do them.
