Halloween Part II - Rise of the Toddlers

I love Halloween. I did not realize how much I really do love this holiday until I had a child. This year it was even more fun than last year as Luke acutally figured out the whole concept. We went trick or treating with my Luke's girlfriend Layla. Neha and I pushed around the two on strollers while poor Rich carried around all the bags. He was a true sport. Neha's husband stayed behind with the dog to fend off hungry hoards of trick or treaters. I do not think I have ever seen so many people in our neighborhood before. People were running out of candy.

This year, Luke was a golfer. We thought it was very apropros as his new obsession and passion is playing/watching golf. He looked smashing. Layla was Minnie Mouse. She managed to keep her ears on for most of the night. Bravo! They were so cute walking up to people's housing and trying to grab as much candy as possible. They also practiced manners - saying "tatoo" (thank you) when they got their candy. People started regulating by the end as they were running out of candy. When all was said and done, Luke had eaten 3 "poppops" (lollipops) and Layla was on her third 3 Muskeeters bar. That was even before we went home.

They also had a Halloween Parade at school - I have no idea how they did it, but they pulled it off. They have a lot of patience those people. There is no way I could keep nine toddlers in line as they walked through a crowded auditorium with parents clamoring on top of each other to take pictures.

I cannot wait for halloween again - I have a feeling that he will actually have an opinion on his costume next year. Stay tuned for part III!
