This year he was too aware of what was going on. He wanted picked out like 12 pumpkins that he wanted. Luckily they were the little ones and we managed to get only about 6 little ones and this really huge one.
The next day, we had friends over for brunch. Nicole and Paul and their son Dominick, Chris and Tom, and their little 2 month old baby Nicholas, and Tim and Megan and their schnoodle, Murphy who is the friendliest dog I might have ever met. A brunch is not a brunch without some bloody marys and Mimosas of course! In the afternoon, Luke was invited to his friend's Wyatt's 2nd birthday party. It was at this awesome indoor padded playroom. Just imagine 10 2-year olds running around and throwing things because they were actually allowed to do so and then eating sugar and juice. They had so much fun. I cannot believe all his little friends are turning 2! Parties with 2 year olds are much more tiring than they were last year when everyone was still turning one!
On Monday, we took Luke to the National Zoo. It was his first visit to the DC zoo. My good friend Neha and her daughter Layla (Luke's girlfriend) met us there. They were so cute. They were so excited to see the tigers, elephants, monkeys, zebras etc. Luke was so excited that he was pointing out squirrels and sparrows and squealing with excitement. His favorite animal by far was the prarie dog. Not sure why. Perhaps because it most resembles a squirrel?
The scariest part of the afternoon was when Ms. Layla decided to make a break for and run away really fast from her 5 month pregnant mother. I was in the process of trying to put a squirming Luke is in his stroller and Rich was in the restroom, so Neha ( the 5 month pregnant mother) had to run after her. Thankfully there was no vehicular traffic, and she actually got quite far so none of the adults were amused. Luke and Layla thought it was the funniest thing in the world though. The two of them were so over stimulated after the day at the zoo that they decied to skip their afternoon naps.
It was a great weekend! There are too many pics to post on here - I posted the rest on facebook.
Yes, Luke has grown up as compared to what he was at 9 months. Even Layla looks a cute big girl!Luke Looks very naughty in one picture
