I Got Friends in All Sorts of Places

Luke has had a couple of busy weeks since he got back from his vacation. His social calendar has been quite filled up visiting various friends - both his age and his parents age. First, we drove up to Gainesville, VA to see our friends Paul and Nicole and their sweet baby boy Dominick who is about 8 weeks old. Luke was very happy to meet one of his future playmates.

Dominick and Luke - future friends and troublemakers

Paul and Rich have known each other since high school so it is really cute that they had sons about four months apart. The have come a long way since high school. I bet they would have never thought in high school that 13 years later, they would be sitting on the couch feeding their sons, they would have laughed. They wanted this picture to go in the Good Counsel Alumni magazine to show how grown up they are now!

After that, we had some people over for the 4th of July. Sam, Jessica, and Swetha and Jeff (Luke's godparents), came over for a little bbq. Luke witnessed his first game of beer pong from a very safe distance.

Later last week, we went to visit one of my best friends from college, Erin, who just had a baby two months ago. This is her second - she had a 18month old daughter as well - so she well ahead of us when it comes to her knowledge in raising children. Her little boy Caden is about 4 months younger than Luke but weighs almost just as much!! Very cute. Of course, neither of us had camera to capture the moments. Yesterday, we took Caden and Luke to the photographer to get their pictures taken professionally. We took them to the Picture People and the pictures turned out so well!! I would highly reccommend them. I was worried about the cheesiness factor, but was pleasantly surprised about how classy they turned out for both of us.
Last Sunday, we met my friend Courtney and her husband Jamin for brunch in Georgetown. We went to the Peacock Cafe where they have really yummy smoothies and walked around and did a little shopping. Well, Courntey and I did a little shopping. The boys, inlcuding Luke, waited outside patiently while he browsed. Thanks boys!! We owe you guys one.
