Dick Krumenacker turns the big 70!

Recently my father-in-law turned 70 years old. To his credit though, he does not look a day over 60 years old as you will see from the pictures. In order to celebrate this wonderful milestone, his children threw him a party. His friends and family came from miles around to help commerorate the occasion. We ran into a few hiccups at the start of the event....you see, in order to accomodate all the guests, we had rented out the clubhouse at the condo complex where Rich and I used to live. The party started at 1p....Rich and his Dad went over around 10:30 to drop off some of the beverages. Rich puts the key into the lock and the lock does not turn. The people who work at the condo had given us the wrong key. Of course panic mode sets in as 40 guests are scheduled to arrive in 2 1/2 hours, and we have no access to the location. Luckily, the maintenance guy was going to be on the premises around Noon and was able to let us in with an hour to spare. It was a little too close for comfort, but things went smoothly after that.

Dick gave a very eloquent toast thanking his friends and family for being there to celebrate with him.

His 6 grandchildren really enjoyed the event in different ways.

Lillian, Evelyn and Kimmy celebrated with each
other and their stuffed animals

Ashley and James engaged in a rowdy game
of Nintnedo DS

Luke rested up during the majority of the party............

But was wide awake for the toast.

All in all, the party was a great success. So, raise your glasses to Dick. May the next 70 years bring him the best of happiness, health and fortune.
