Elina with Mama

My favorite little man - that smile still gets me
A cute little bundle
Being an only child, I am fascinated by my two children. I know most parents are fascinated by their kids, but I am fascinated by the fact that my two kids are so different. It is amazing how clear that it is even at such an early age. Luke is always buzzing. In fact, I think he has enough energy to supply electricity to remote villages in India. He was like this even as a baby. I would have it no other way either. His energy keeps me active and he is an incredibly fun child. I also love that he is so passionate about things that he is interested in.
Elina is laid back and much more of a calming presence. She loves to observe and take in the world around her without needing to be entertained. Luke likes his structure and routine. Like his dad, he needs advanced notice when his routine is going to be different. Elina, while she benefits from her routine, is also very adaptive so far. I am not sure if this is partly her personality or partly because she has no choice since she is the second child! Luke never slept through the night for the first year of his life. Elina, for the most part (knock on wood!!), does really well in that department.
Either way, they are both amazing children and we are so lucky to have them in our lives. They are both extremely loving, happy and bring so much joy in our lives. They also both have such expressive and bright eyes that really tell how they are feeling and always seem to be smiling.
